Could someone please check my answer regarding surface area?

I would just like it if someone would confirm my answer. The question is…find the cost of fringe on the border of a quilt that measures 70 inches by 100 inches. The fringe costs $1.35 per yard. My answer is $262.49. close?

If I’m understanding the question correctly, you just want the fringe to be equal to the perimeter of the quilt, so:
perimeter=70in + 70in + 100in + 100in
=340 in
= 340/36 = 9.44 yards
so 9.44 yards * $1.34/yard = $12.74
