What happens to the ocean during an earth quake?
Dose i splash, are there title waves, or is it just the tectonic plates that are affected and the ocean stays smooth?
If you mean out in the open ocean on a boat, what would you notice if there was a big earthquake under you…
the answer is nothing. You would not even realize there was an earthquake.
Sometimes earthquakes create tsunamis, but if you were out in the open ocean you wouldn’t notice these. Usually, the water just sort of absorbs the seismic waves without any real effect on the surface of the ocean.
