There are just so many ways to make your own potpourri in a jar or a satchel at home. All that is necessary is to be creative. If searching for a way to freshen the drawers with a delightful fragrance then why not try potpourri squares or satchels. These can easily be created with potpourri, essential oils, small cello bags, and a small piece of fabric or alternatively a satchel bought from a store.
If you decide to create your own squares in fabric then all you need to do is cut out the sizes of choice after firstly washing, drying and ironing the fabric. Then stitch the bag inside out so that the stitching is concealed. This is done with sewing machine or by hand.
Next, collect a generous portion of potpourri and put it within a cello bag. Add a couple of drops of you preferred essential oil into each and shake. With a small sharp instrument, such as a pin, poke several holes in the bag. Now position each potpourri-filled bag into either a sewn fabric square or a satchel, this can depend on your preferred option.
If you created you own fabric squares it is necessary to decide on how to close the squares. You preference may either be sewing it closed or adding a small zipper on it. A zipper can give the easy convenience of being able to reuse the square and alter scents as and when required.
There will be so many places around a home that you can use squares, or satchels, these can easily fit agreeably in a draw or cupboard to make the cloths smell lovely. These might be hung in closets or off lamps as well.
Consider placing the newly created potpourri crafts all through the home in different locations, for instance the kitchen and bedroom as an element of the decor. Apart from adding a beautiful aroma, it can also add color.

how do I make a fleece tie quilt, not the 2 sided blanket but the quilt w/ tied squares?
I have made the fleece tie blankets before but I saw a magazine that was selling the kits to make a fleece tie quilt and I wanted to know how to make them myself. I assume you would need squares around 16-18 inches and then tie them together but I don’t know how to go about doing that or how much fabric I would need to purchase etc. any help would be appreciated. thanks

This one has three blocks each of seven colors.
The fringe looks like it is about 2 1/2 long.
1/2 yard of fleece would turn out about 3, 18″ squares.
Check the width of the fleece when buying as it can differ, company to company.
