Who’s the better defensive Genius Tony Dungy or Bill Bellichick?
Both Guys know how to blend talent very well of defense. They seem to take guys like Teddy Bruschi and Dwight Freeney because they know talent. Both players were great college talents but feel in the draft because of there size. Both ended up being dominat NFL players. I love the way both these guys coach even though they are on two opposite sides of the spectrum. One guys rough and has and teaches his team to have a us against the World attitude. The other is a Holy man who always has players who for the most part are polite but will knock your head off. They both prove that knowing talent and meshing together is the way to build great D. Which is your guy?
Fans who go back in NFL history more than 5 or 6 years will remember that the Buccaneers had a top 3 defense for about 7 years when Tony D was the head coach. He knows defense unlike Bellichick he didn’t have a great QB down in Tampa. Now he does and they are winning games.
Dungy came up with the Tampa 2. Almost every defense in the league uses that formation in some way shape or form. Dungy was the master mind behind that great Bucs defense, their superbowl year. Gruden took Dungy’s team to the Superbowl. No offense to the Pats defense but none of their defense over the years hold a candle to that Bucs D.
