How CCTVs Work
There are many different types of CCTV systems available, analog and digital, wired and wireless, and their modes of operation vary; however, the basic components are in essence the same: a CCTV camera, a CCTV camera lens, a CCTV monitor, and (for wired systems) cables that carry the signal from one place to another.
The images that were collected are sent to a CCTV monitor and are recorded on videotape with the use of a VCR or a DVR (Digital Video Recorder). The CCTV camera lens determines how far and how much detail can be seen. The CCTV camera picks up the signal from the area monitored and in a wired system, the CCTV camera send the signals through a coaxial cable to the CCTV monitor. No cables are needed in wireless systems. The CCTV broadcasts the signal in this setup. The monitors can be manned by controllers or they can be left unmonitored.

These things are no longer considered luxuries, rather, they have become necessities. They provide an increased level of security for everyone.
