My dog scratches at our glass patio door?
Whe trying to get in he jumps up and scrabbles at the door, and he is starting to stratch the glass! Any easy, quick ways to stop him? Btw he is a 9 month old cocker spaniel
By letting him in when he does this you have reinforced this behavior. What you need to do is find another way for him to communicate to you that he wants to come in. This can be accomplished in a variety of ways, but I think the best thing to do would be to train him to use a bell or a doorbell. If you’re not sure how to train him, you can just buy a doggy doorbell and it will come with instructions.
You could also try not letting him in when he scratches and see if over time he’ll learn to bark instead. Then don’t let him in until he barks.
