Do you roll your eyes at simple poems?
They trim the trees
so their limbs bend
with ease around
city wires that
one day will be
obsolete, replaced
by buried cable.
My dog’s legs twitch
as he lays
dreaming of that day,
when all the squirrels
can no longer tease
from their mid air transport
tree to tree.
His tail thumps
very pleased.
