how much does it cost to make a handmade lap quilt???

i have about 15 bucks…how much more do i need to make a lap quilt???

The backing and the batting are going to take almost 1/3 to 1/2 of your funds.
If you know any people who sew ask if they have any scraps, or fabric to donate. I frequently purge my fabrics and look for anyone who wants my discards. You would be amazed at what people have and can contribute to the effort. You can also use fabrics from clothing that has some “life” left ( try to use 100 percent cotton). I made a quilt of old jeans fabrics once.
It does not take much to get a good assortment of fabrics for the top or the pieced portion. Play with the color combinations. “Scrap” quilts are quite popular now.
If you want you can do the Walmart bin, for the 1 – 2 dollar stuff , but I would collect first , fill in with the purchased.
If I had a way I would send you a box of my scrap , and leftover fabrics.
Have fun, Lap quilts are fun , not to much time, and not a lot of $$.
