Need help to figure out the spark plug wire mess up.?
I messed up the wiring on the spark plugs and need help to put them back on. I accidentally took off all the wires off to my wifes 2002 Ford Taurus. Does anyone know how to put them back. Any help will be appreciated. Is there any websites that I can look up a diagram of how to rewire the spark plug cables?
Your cylinders are -
1 – 2 – 3
4 – 5 – 6
FRONT
Place the wires on the nipples of the coil pack and run the wires to the indicated cylinder acordingly.
Your car uses what is termed a “Waste Spark” ignition system. The PCM fires the coil for #1, the mate plug to #1 also fires, but it really isn’t needed, but it is cheaper and more efficient to fire both together, so the mate is firing a “WASTE” spark. It has no effect on anything except it completes the circuit for the high energy discharge from the coil.
