How to create a very authentic board game?

I’ve photoshoped I monopoly board game into a personalized game for my friend for her birthday,
and I want to get it printed and somehow mounted so it looks like a real board game. As authentic as possible.. that thick, hard, heavy card board that folds. I thought of buying the game and getting it mounted onto the actual game (a process where they put a type of paper adhesive between the paper/image and the cardboard and have it heated & pressed in a special machine that glues the two together perfectly). But I called a place & they said the board is too heavy for their machine. The only other option I can think of is printing it on a very large 20x20inch sticker/label page (if possible.. i havent looked into it yet) & then CAREFULLY place it on the board. But if we mess up we’d have to buy another game & print it again & it may not look as good….

I have been trying the same thing, only I would like to make a relief map of the world that is a game similar to RISK only that you fight over resources, population growth, education, and territory.
