Environmentally safe way to paint / stencil fabric?
I want to stencil letters onto a shirt. I would like to use some kind of fabric paint / marker / etc. that is environmentally friendly. I’m new at this so, I’d like to use the easiest method. What kind of paint/marker/etc should I buy?

No method of decoration is an environmentally friendly as undecorated.
That said, I’m going to send you to http://www.dharmatrading.com and let you browse through a number of methodologies and projects and materials. If I had to pick one paint to work with only, it would probable be the Neopaque/Lumiere line.
