Umbilical cord tied around the neck? How often does it occur?
I’m 27 weeks pregnant 28 tomorrow.
On mother’s day, a client of mine got me a flower lei. (necklace made of fresh flowers). I wore it for an hour and my co-worker told me to take it off because it’s a supertition not to wear a lei when your pregnant or else your baby will choke on its umbilical cord and also necklaces.. something that goes around your neck . I’m the most supertitious person in the world and now I’m worried. Am i just being paranoid??
All those old wives tales aren’t true. Apparently my son was born with his umbilical cord around his neck and i didn’t even know it until my husband told my a few days later. The doctor failed to mention it to me, which was probably a blessing in disguise because everyone knows i would have flipped out. But yes you are being paranoid and if it was to happen and it was seriouse they would be able to tell by your babies activities and heart rate.
