Glass Fusing Possibilities?
I’ve done the process before with a kiln, but no longer have that available. I was looking for an easier way to do glass fusing. I heard of a microwave-friendly fusing technique but haven’t found any reference to it on glass fusing websites. I understand artist’s needs for process purity, but running a kiln in my current environment isn’t an option. Anyone heard of this, and by chance if it’s just a rip off for lack of better definition. Also I know there are different grades of glass, what would be the best to use..and which ones are compatible. I am just getting into this and need some direction.
Have you considered renting kiln space at a nearby studio? Even if it’s a ceramics studio, they should have electric kilns, and those might go to the right temperature at the right heating ramp-up.
I wouldn’t use a microwave if it’s in your living space. It could offgas some nasty stuff.
