Kiln-dried hardwood Apsen?
hi!
i went to the petstore and got a BIG bag of aspen
i didnt seethis before, but when i got into my car, it said KILN DRIED HARDWOOD bedding
but on teh top it said ASPEN SHAVINGS!
this bedding is for my two guineapigs!
im not really sure what to do now!
should i use it???

p.s is it safe?

kiln dried just means the wood shavings/fragments/original boards had moisture removed by heating in a box (kiln)
The other choice would be laying them out in the sun (hardly practical where aspen grows) or letting mold grow (which could be dangerous)
edit
and after visiting Home Depot last hour, I am reminded that if it wasn’t kiln dried it would be nice damp wood chip mulch for plants.
