Decorating in Hunter Green and Burgundy?
Does anyone still decorate their house in burgundy and hunter green? Do these two colors go together well? Thanks.
Both of these can be considered “earth” tones because of their dark nature, and that a component of the hue is a bit of the “opposite” to dull the purity.
Because of this, these two can compliment each other very well, as ANY two earth tone will. (slate and ocher, etc)
The emphasis of one of these, over the othe will determine the mood, or direction of the decor. Large surfaces of burgandy, such as drapes, or rugs or larger uphoulstry will make the room warm, while an emphasis on the green will cool things down a taste.
Whatever you do with these colorss, make sure that you emphasise one more than the other. The less dominant color will be the accent. When you go about choosing fabrics and coatings, make sure you consider how they appear in natural light AND under the room’s own illumination.
Remember, there are no absolute rules in color. A question like “Does anyone” do this, or that, anymore is meaningless. If everyone did it one way, then who could claim to be unique and original? Fashions and trends change when someone breaks OUT of what everyone else is doing.
