Do glass blowing and sword making involve similar skills?
I’m interested in learning both, but only really have time for one. I’d like to know if I can apply anything of what I learn from one to the other.

Not much. I do furnace glass blowing and metal forging/casting (but not real sword making) and the contrast is considerable. While both involve handling hot material and control of heat and temperature, metal working involves fast heating and cooling and a lot of banging which requires physical labor strength while glass involves much slower cooling and the strength needed is more endurance than cardio exercise. Metal allows pausing at any time with reheating possible, while glass requires constant attention else it will drip if not kept moving and will crack if left to cool in the air.
