Is there a way to get whiteout correction fluid off of a fleece blanket?
I am wondering how to get whiteout correction fluid off of a fleece blanket that I have without damaging the blanket or having to put it through multiple washes.
Mmm – tricky one with fleece. I would first off try removing as much as possible by scraping & picking it off if it is just on the surface. As fleece has quite a ‘loose’ surface, you may find that this leaves it looking a little thinner in one place, but at least it should be all one colour.
If the fluid has soaked in, you need a solvent. The usual solvent for correction fluid is White Spirit (if you are in the USA I think it is called mineral spirits). I am reasonably confident that this is safe to use on fleece, but it may be worth just testing a small area first. Saturate the stain and rub gently until it loosens, then launder. White Spirit doesn’t smell too great and in may take a few washes to take the smell out – it helps if you absorb as much as possible with talcum powder first. If this does not work, then try WD40. WD40 can only be washed out using a biological detergent though .
I have heard that rubbing alcohol works, also methylated spirits , but I have never tried them myself.
