Why do people get so excited at Christmas time?

It’s nearly christmas time i know,but why do people get so excited around this time, really happy, and Excited at the december countdown? It makes everyone forget there worries, but how? Also a giving time for you’re friends and loved ones. I don’t feel Christmas though I celebrate it.It was just an ordinary day for me. But what’s it about the season that gets everyone in a happy mood? What’s just about christmas that makes everyone excited ? I’ve never really thought about it but ye… Any opinions welcome.
