Fan Flat

Hi , I have a 94 cherokee 4.0L se that auxillary fan continues to run for ever when engine is off.?

Upon turning off engine the fan continues to run until battery goes flat unless i disconnect the fan from its power source, does anyone know what the source of the problem is and what should be done to correct it.

dodge much like fords in the early 90s had bad problems out of there relay systems. there is a relay that was set aside to run after the engine had bee switched off if the heat under the hood was still to great. more than likley the relay has welded its self together inside the realy. look under the hood for fuse boxes. try to find one that read acc cooling fan or such. run the vehicle turn it off and go looking. try and find that relay if it goes dead when you take it out. and starts back when you go back with it. go buy a relay and swap it. hope this helps
