Tri-Chem Liquid Embroidery?

My Mom gave me some tri-chem kits from the 70′s that used the tri-chem liquid embroidery paint. Does anyone know what kind of paint I can use on the kts now? i would really like to do these for her.

The old Tri Chem paints were not so great for lungs so they were removed from the market years ago. Nowadays it looks like other companies are making “ballpoint paints” too, but those are filled with “fabric paint” which is water-based (safe):

Or there are also “fabric pens” that are hard felt.

Or fabric paints** can be used with various kinds of brushes (often short, stiff ones) on a stabilized background (stretched, or ironed temporarily onto freezer paper, or pressed onto fine sandpaper, etc).
Fabric paints also come in little bottles with nozzles so they can be applied in thin lines or dots (the “dimensional” ones are best for dots?), or little nozzles can be sold separately to put onto bottles of acrylic paint.
**or regular acrylic paints with clear “textile medium” added to them to make them supple when dry (on fabric), which is the same thing
