what can i use to cover the back of embroidery?
i have has some onsies embroidered for my son and i know there is something that i can use to cover the back of it so it doesnt itch…i have looked for the sulky tender touch but no one in town carries it…is there anything else i can use?? thanks!
I would have three options for this. The first and best is Floriani Dream Weave stabilizer. It is lightweight, iron on, and doesn’t change the drape of your fabric. It would cover the itchies nicely.
Second is Mesh iron on stabilizer. Many companies make this. It is also lightweight and will cover the itches.
Pellon light weight fusible interfacing would also work and might be the easiest to find.
Once you decide what to use, cut a piece one inch larger than the embroidery you are trying to cover. Place the fusible side to the wrong side of the fabric covering the embroidery and iron with a low temp dry iron or according to instructions that came with your purchase.
There are many websites that you can purchase these items but I would try eBay. Might find a smaller amount there than other places.
Sewing stores will carry the Sulky or Floriani brand.
