In a pinch can I wash white laundry in cold water?
I am trying to cut back on hot water usage, I wash all my other clothes in cold water, as long as the laundry soap seems to be agitating fine. Though I usually was my whites in screaming hot water. By whites I mean washcloths, dishcloths, towels, socks, the sofa cover, and an occasional t-shirt. When I launder them I use:
1 cup Clorox Bleach
1 cup Arm&Hammer Baking Soda
do a 20 minute prewash/soak
the a heavy duty wash setting.
They come out great, but like I said trying to use less hot water, can anyone tell me if it will REALLY make a huge difference by changing only the water temp setting to cold??
You should wash all your clothes in cold water , today’s fabrics and detergent composition make washing in hot water obsolete…
