I was watching VH1 and they were talking about the top 40 videos of 2007. Matchbox 20′s “How Far We’ve Come” was on the top list, and he was talking about how it will end for Mormons, Catholics, and Atheists and we’ll only find out who is right after we’re dead. And he said “I put my money on the Mormons”

I doubt any of the members of Matchbox Twenty are Mormon, as they do not proclaim it as their faith and are not listed on famousmormons.net.

As to why he said it, who knows. Perhaps he knows members of the church or has worked with them and has been impressed by our standards and/or beliefs. Or it could’ve been said purely for shock value.
