Threading hair removal has been around a long time. It is an ancient technique that’s still used in countries in India, Pakistan and the Middle East. It’s not nearly as common in the West as waxing. The technique is normally use over the entire face, including the upper lip, cheek and eyebrows. Threading can be done at home but is usually left to the experts at salons, as it is a very tricky technique to master and do effectively. It’s excellent for removing fine, peach fuzz like hair all over the face. It’s a much better alternative than bleaching or shaving.
The technique got it’s name because it uses a cotton thread to remove the hair. It’s a very quick process and doesn’t leave a mess like waxing or bleaching. The cotton thread is twisted and rolled along the surface of the skin, pulling the hair out from the follicle root. The thread is twisted quite a few times to resemble a bow, with the twisted middle part in the center. As you close the fingers in one hand, you open the fingers in the other, which spins the twisted thread in the middle. As you run it across your face, it catches the hair and pulls it out. The process is repeated as you alternate opening one hand and close the other.
The technique takes a lot of practice, with the very first thing needing to be learned is how to hold the thread properly. Each step of the threading process must be mastered in order to do it right, or else you wind up just breaking the hair off at the surface of the skin. The fact that it’s a tricky process makes it not very effective to do at home. But if you can master it, you can start using it on other body areas. And you could probably offer your services to a salon, as most of them don’t offer threading.
All in all threading is a good option to get rid of unwanted body hair. Depending on where the hair is you’re trying to get rid of, it can be a much better option than waxing or shaving. But like the other two methods previously listed, threading hair removal is only a temporary solution.

What can i use to stiffen cotton/polyester thread?
I’m making some crochet earrings but the yarn is too soft, it is a mixture between cotton and polyester, i was wondering if there’s a way to make it stiff when i’m done with it. I mean some substance where i can submerge it and it gets harder?…i just want it to stop bending and deforming…
You can use spray starch or liquid starch if you want to dip.
