Could anyone tell me what the Chinese characters say underneath a cloisonné bowl.?
The inscription is shown at http://www.martlets.co.uk/images/chinese_characters.jpg. I guess it might be the name of the maker of the bowl.
The characters are 大明年造, and they suggest that the bowl was manufactured during the early period of the Ming Dynasty.
