Gold raised writing for wedding inserts?
Hi, my cousin is having great difficulty in finding an ink cartridge that prints gold writing.
He has seen it on another invitation but cant get hold of the sender to ask where they got it done
The print was raised so do you know if a specialist printer is needed for this or do you know what it is that he is looking for

This is either thermography or die stamping.
Die stamping is very expensive and quite specialist. It involves the creation of a steel die which forces the image up from the back of the board or paper which is hand fed. If it is burnished (dull) it requires two passes to create, so it’s even more expensive!
Thermography is a cheaper option to create raised text. Basically special inks are heated. It isn’t as beautiful as die stamping but it does produce perfectly good raised print.
