Can I use any bobbin case?
I have a Domestic Rotary Sewing machine from the 40′s. I am missing the bobbin case. Is there another bobbin case I can use instead of the original?
If this the type being used in modern machines, you will have to check the shuttle race to see if there is a slot. This will indicate if you need a case with a wing or one that does not have the wing.
The wing fits into the slot or the case will slip around inside the race and cause the thread to jam.
Contact local sewing machine dealers to find one who does his/her own repair. He/she will be able to find the type of case you need.
Another option would be to buy one where sewing machine accessories are sold and try it. If the machine uses a class 15/style A bobbin, then it should be okay. If it does not work, return it.
