What is significance of cedar tied with blue ribbon when a Freemason dies?
I understand 6 pieces of cedar with blue ribbon are placed in the casket.
Those “cedars” may be sprigs of acacia, a common shrub of the Middle East. That with the blue ribbon seems to mark the Freemason as at least a Master (3rd degree). They symbolize the hope of resurrection on Resurrection Day along with all the souls of the Faithful Departed.
