The typical preppy bride loves all things that have timeless style, such as pearl bridal jewelry. You are likely to see her dressed for her wedding day in clean and classic lines, such as a strapless A line silk mikado gown adorned only with a simple veil and the aforementioned pearl bridal jewelry. She is going to want her wedding favors to be in keeping with her personal style: not too trendy, never gaudy, and ideally, monogrammed!

Candy is one of the most traditional wedding favors, and there are certainly some great ways to make it work for a preppy wedding. It can be as simple as having customized ribbon printed to tie around the favor boxes: pink grosgrain with green writing spelling out your names and wedding date. Another fun idea is to have the candy inside also be pink and green. You can even order M&Ms in a pink and green combination with customized printing on them. Preppy and delicious!

Another idea for a tasty wedding favor is to have large cookies made in your favorite motif. Have them either baked into a festive preppy shape, such as a Lilly Pulitzer inspired monkey holding a cosmo glass, or order a simple shape like a wedding cake, and frost it in pink and green. Present the favors in a clear bag so that everyone will be able to see how adorable they are. Seal the bag with a personalized sticker with your monogram on it.

There are many other wedding favors that can be customized to fit in with a preppy wedding. Madras and plaid are always beloved by preppy girls for summer weddings, and one terrific idea for favors is to order mints in little pink and green plaid tins that are customized with the bride and groom’s names. The fun thing about this favor is that even after the mints are gone, your guests will be able to use the little tins for all sorts of things (personally, I would fill mine with spare buttons).

Of course, your wedding favors do not need to be edible. Nautical motifs are always popular with preppy brides, and this can be a great source of inspiration for your favors. One of my favorite nautically inspired favor ideas is a small seashell with a tea light in it. This is a simple but unique idea that will look great on your reception tables.

Lilly Pulitzer is the guru for preppy brides everywhere, and you can use her fun prints as a source of ideas for your wedding favors. For female guests, you could give out cosmetic bags in a Lilly print. Or just get a few yards of a Lilly fabric, and use it to wrap up the most traditional wedding favor of all: Jordan almonds. This is an easy way to add your own personal style to a classic favor.

The favors that you choose for your wedding are one of the areas where you can have the most fun. Get really creative, and select favors that reflect your interests and style. For preppy brides, any wedding favor that is pink and green is a great place to start!
