Bisque Doll

Antique Bisque doll…?

My sister got as a birthday present, about 20 years ago, from our grandparents…we don’t know how our grandmother got it, but she said at the time it was already an antique, about 80 or so years old. The face is in excellent condition, the clothes and hair were replaced….but everything else is original…there are no markings on the back of the neck or shoulders. We are just curious if there is any value to it, other then sentimental. Any comments or feedback welcome!

An antique needs to be 100 years old. Since the doll was made in the 1920′s with no marks I am going to assume that it is a composition doll. There were many factories then that produced dolls, and many were not marked. most of the bisque did have marks. If you would post a picture then I should be able to tell which doll you have. The mark may be up under the wig, did you look there?

www.dollreference.com does have some great reference on older dolls, but do post a picture that would be faster.
