what is an art piece that is easy to duplicate?

I’m in a ceramics class, and the teacher wants us to replicate a famous art piece onto some clay, so, are there any good looking, yet simple (or easy) art pieces i can replicate (by hand) onto some clay?

Do a ceramic interpretation of anything done by Rothko (a painter) – that would prove to be very simple!
